Detroit Moped Works frequently receives requests to service scooters from people who don't realize scooters and mopeds are different things. Mopeds do not have key ignition starts or run on battery power. Mopeds have two stroke motors (oil is mixed with gasoline) that have different internal components than four stroke scooters. And most importantly, moped stands for "motor and pedal," meaning they are pedaled like a bicycle to start the motor.

Because of these important differences, Detroit Moped Works does not service or repair scooters. We recommend our friends with scooters try one of the following establishments for their scooter needs.

Note: These referrals are provided as a courtesy. Detroit Moped Works is not affiliated with any of these establishments and cannot guarantee the quality of services offered.
