There’s a lot happening at Detroit Moped Works, and we wanted to take a minute to give you a full update — about current services and an exciting opportunity to join our team.

🚫 Service Update: No New Repairs (for Now)

Right now, Detroit Moped Works is NOT accepting new repair work.
We’re 100% focused on completing:

• Winter custom builds

• Bikes scheduled for out-of-state shipping

• Winter storage scooters and mopeds

• Specialized performance projects (2-stroke tuning, modified builds, etc.)

Many of these bikes require in-depth mechanical work, final tuning, and serious long-distance test rides before they’re ready for delivery — and we want to give them the time and attention they deserve.

Unfortunately, the same warm, beautiful weather we need for proper test riding also brings a surge of in-shop customer traffic. Balancing the two has been a challenge, but we’re grinding away day by day, determined to do things right.

👨‍🔧 Help Wanted: We’re Hiring an Experienced Mechanic!

To keep the momentum rolling — and to better serve you in the near future — we’re growing our team.

We are looking to hire an experienced mechanic who is ready to hit the ground running.

Specifically, we’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas:

• Vintage mopeds (bonus points for performance 2-stroke tuning)

• Modern 49cc scooters (especially four-stroke service and repairs)

• Bicycles

• eBikes or electric motorbikes

You must be turn-key ready with at least one type of vehicle.
We’re absolutely willing to train you on additional systems, but this is not a trainee position for someone completely new to all of these areas, even if you have general mechanical skills.

We need someone ready to jump in, help finish pending projects, and keep Detroit riding strong.

✨ Bonus Skills (That We’d Love to See)

• Welding or light machining experience

• Spanish language skills

• A valid driver’s license and a vehicle capable of transporting 1–2 mopeds (for occasional local deliveries)
