1978 KTM Foxi 'Baron' Deluxe 50cc - ZA50 - Black - Restored Vintage Moped

We're proud to offer this quite rare and gorgeous 1978 KTM Foxi Baron Deluxe featuring full cast magnesium wheels, original luggage racks and a fully automatic 50cc ZA50 engine with an authentic Bing 15mm carburetor.

Known by many as the Foxi Deluxe, the US version of the KTM Foxi with mag wheels is actually KTM Foxi Baron. All KTM Foxi's were designed for Puch engines but ended up being released in the US with the (in this lister's humble opinion) inferior Sachs 504 engine, needing an extra bracket to adapt the frame for Sachs motor. This one comes to as it should have all the way back in '78 with a powerful two speed automatic ZA50 engine.

The ZA50 engine came from Motion Left/ Janus' Devon's personal collection. It had been configured to be a racing engine reaching 50+ mph on the track. We have since re-geared it to be appropriate for this configuration reaching speeds of 35-40mph. Dialing back the gearing/ configuration also makes this a far more reliable and ultimately more enjoyable riding experience.

This KTM Foxi has passed through the doors of Detroit Moped Works a few times and has spent much of it's time in the owner Alex's personal collection. We now have this rare piece of moped history of offer for a new owner to enjoy.
